A precedent study on the interaction of a single unit with the ocean and its many forces. Living Breakwaters is a winner of the rebuild by design competition that took place in 2013, after the effect of Hurricane Sandy. These units serve to provide a barrier for the coast while still allowing a living, breathing oceanic community to thrive.
